36th Balkan Championship Young Rider Team and Individual Gold Medalist: Burak Azak
Burak Azak and SIEC Lanjaron signed two victories at 36th edition of Balkan Championship previous weekend in Bulgaria. As a team member of Turkey in Young rider, Turkish team became the winner of 2010 while Burak won the Grand Prix on Sunday with a spectacular performance. He was the only individual Turkish rider to win the gold medal in the individual Grand Prix on Sunday 5th.

On 3rd of September, Burak and Lanjaron had a good start in the speed class (1.25m) by placing 2nd with a clear round right after Bogdan Leonte with Ippica from Romania. The second day, riders jumped over 2 rounds for the team championship. The Young rider team of Turkey was composed of Atahan Deliormanli (Chloe), Cagla Buzluk (Verdi), Cenk Memik (Cool Classic)and Burak Azak (SIEC Lanjaron). Being the best combination of the team, Burak and Lanjaron finished the team competition in total of 9 faults. While carrying the team to the victory Burak also secured a good place for the Grand Prix on Sunday. Greek team finished in the second place whereas team Romania placed 3rd.
On the final day of the 36th Balkan Championship, Burak with total of 9.77 points had the second best result of young riders after Bogdan Leonta with 9 penalties. In the Grand Prix when Burak on SIEC Lanjaron passed the finish line clear in time he claimed the gold medal and the title of the 2010 Young Rider Balkan Champion in his very first national team experience. Bogdan Leonte was the silver medalist after putting two fences down in the Grand Prix. Burak was also in the second place of the day result where the Greek rider Christina Dimitrakopoulou on Paco had won the day.
Children team took the second (Buse Samli, Adnan Onur, Erol Akbsş, Oguz Dalmis) place the last minute when the last rider of the Greek team finished with a better time in the course. Junior Team (Elif Gulec, Dilara Yurttutan, Emir Delikan ve Omer Ersin) brought the first gold medal of the championship. Senior riders (Sencer Can, Sencer Horasan, Mert Alicioglu and Hulki Karagulle) closed the day with a won also as a team. Amazon team placed 3rd with a one rider less in the team championship and the team represented by Aylin Yildiz, Senem Kibar and Sim Halulu. Emir Delikan took the second place as an individual on the last day unluckily putting one fence down in the Grand Prix causing him losing the title of Balkan Champion for Juniors. Sencer Horasan was in the 4th place and followed by Sencer Can in the fifth place in the individual rankings

With SIEC Casall and SIEC Cotarus Sevil Sabanci competed in Seniors Gold Tour whereas she rode the bay stallion SIEC Brigadör in Ladies Tour. SIEC Team riders Burak Azak (SIEC Lanjaron) and Oktay Sezek (SIEC Castlekelly Finn, SIEC Samantha) traveled to Sofia for the 4th edition of St George CSI1* International Show Jumping competitions. Sevil Sabanci on SIEC Corat had a fabulous performance at 2010 Ataturk Cup 1.45 on 8th of August at Maslak facilities where she placed 7th as being the only senior lady competitor of Senior class. At the same time she completed the 3rd leg of the Turkish Championship for seniors in the 7th place and with 53 points in total she took the 6th place in the rankings. The memorial cup for Nuri Oglakci, The Founder of Istanbul Equestrian Club, is on this weekend with the 25th edition. Nuri Oglakci Cup will start at 21.00 on Sunday. For three days; 45 kids in 3 groups from Tarabya Hilal Kindergarten were at SIEC Pony club to meet with ponies and learn about pony ridding, pony care and have a good extra curriculum activity with ponies. Students were given lessens at the stables about pony care and visited the places where ponies live and are fed. After riding sessions, they spend time in the pony activity room and painted the ponies they rode during riding sessions. more...

SIEC Pony festival welcomed around 85 pony riders from World Point Sport Center, Doga College and SIEC Pony Club The festival program offered the riders training courses in 40-60-90cm courses and pole training courses for the beginners. Today (07.04.2010) Arezzo Equestrian Center held the Finals for the 5-6-7 year old young horses in the name of The Best of Toscana Tour 2010. The horses achieving the best results of the last 3 weeks qualified for the finals of CSI3* show. Richard Grom rode the 7 year old S.I.E.C. The traditional show of Italy; Toscana Tour, which takes 4 weeks in Arezzo show ground started last Wednesday (17th March) with young horse classes including 5-6 and 7 year old horses. In order to make contribution in the development of equestrian sports, to give experience to the riders in different environments, S international Equestrian Centre welcomed Gurman Equestrian Sport Club which was the first club returned after the declaration of SIEC for clinics all over Turkey.
